Protective Style || Wig Life

Hi Ladies… how have you been? My life these days has a life of it’s own but don’t worry I’m sorting it out by God’s grace. HAPPY NEW MONTH!!!!! I can’t believe we’re in the 8th month of the year. Like for real?!! This year is definitely faster than a jet. Lol! I pray our expectations are not cut short in this new Month. Amen!I have been protective styling since March after my big chop and I’ve been enjoying myself thoroughly. Right now, I have 3 wigs and I’m adding a braided wig to my collection soonest. Since cutting my hair and going natural (for now because I still intend to texlax) I’ve not gotten to the length where I feel comfortable to leave my fro out and style it the way other naturalistas do. So I protective style for work Mondays – Fridays and leave my fro out during the weekends except I have an event.

My wash-days have become boring since I big chopped mostly because I’m extremely busy on weekends and I don’t have the strength to do anything extra. I intend to change that from now on and I’ve been considering a Henna mix for a while now so who knows I maybe inspired to do one this weekend. Check out my past Henna experiences here, here and here.

For this wash-day I kept things minimal and used only 2 products.

  • Deep conditioned without heat for 5 minutes with ORS Replenishing Conditioner (oldie but goodie) and rinsed with cool water.
  • Moisturized with Dark & Lovely moisturizing lotion and sealed with Grapeseed Oil.

My fro is definitely growing because I’ve been able to make cornrows weekly. So as is my new routine I put my hair in 5 cornrows and slept with my faithful satin bonnet. I intend to use this wig till the end of the week and a review will , hopefully I would have gotten my braids wig by then.

Tell me ladies what’s up with your hair?!
